Join us on a
Fall Drive to tour Mounds!
When the first Europeans came into the land they called Ohio, there were over a 1000 different mounds that covered the landscape. Unfortunately, only a small fraction of that remain today.
Join us for the day, as we lead a caravan of cars through South Western Ohio to see some of that remain.
We are meeting up at the Bratton Township Building, west of Serpent Mound, and south of the hamlet of Louden. For those closer to Cincinnati, who would like to meet us at our first destination instead, call and register with us, so we know how many to expect.

Attendees: Please call 937-205-0094 to register to participate, space is limited.
Maximum limit: About 12 cars, in caravan style. Please plan to share a ride, as we would will try to get all participants in the least amount of cars.
Please bring: Lunch, snacks, appropriate clothes for the weather
While the tour will take us to 5 specific Mounds Sites, the following mounds, earthworks, and historic sites will also be pointed out along the way: East Fork Works, the Battle of Grassy Run, Turner Earthworks, Milford Earthworks, Brown County Serpent Mound and more!

9:45 – 10:30
Firehouse Site / American Indian Education Center, Odd Fellows Cemetery Mound
The 1st stop on the tour will be to visit the Firehouse Site and American Indian Education Center.
Newtown, OH
10:45 – 12:00
Madisonville Site and Mariemont Wall, Mariemont Native American Cultural & Education Center
The 2nd stop on the tour will be to visit the Fort Ancient-era site and the Hopewell-era earthen wall.

Fort Salem
The 3rd stop on the tour will be to visit the Fort Salem hilltop earthworks. We will eat lunch at this stop.

Fincastle Earthworks
The 4th stop on the tour will be to the Adena-era mound and enclosures.

The 5th stop on the tour will be to visit the Adena-era Mound and circular enclosures.
